Mission Possible.............

La Hacienda and Casa Grande Mexican restaurants call the PCM from time to time to provide transporation between the two establishments which are about a mile apart. One day, Mission Mexican was to transport one of the little brown guys from the Hacienda to the Casa to take care of a staffing problem. This trip made me feel like a human resource professional. Another time during College of Charleston Homecoming, there was an emergency call for more tequilla, which I transported post haste (contributing to the deliquency of college kids always give one a feeling of accomplishment). Yesterday, I got called and fiqured it was another staffing problem or liquor emergency but didn't really know because no one speaks English (How do these people stay in business?). As you can see from the picture, this was my most important mission yet.

Comments:
Now, based on my comments in a previous blog, I think you know my feelings about immigrants. Again, this country was built on LEGAL immigrants (Ellis Island, anyone?!!?) A toilet plunger?!!? Well, let me tell you - ain't nothin' nice about our local mexi-restaurants - they are dirty, the service is ridiculous, and, well......just the other day at Casa Grande (your boy Andrew was with me) - I got "under-charged" for my food & beverage, as the hostess/bartender/waitress pocketed the difference. Prejudice?!!? I think not - I don't like ANYBODY that's not me...DO YOU KNOW that Monday, May 1st, is NATIONAL NO MEXICAN DAY?!!? That's right - mexicans will be calling out sick and they won't be buying ANYTHING!!! (Sure would like to be a retailer on Sunday!!!) Well, guess what - if you're an Hispanic this Monday and you TRY to order a hot dog from DollarDog Guy, NO BUENO!!! You are out of luck!!! It's NATIONAL NO-HOT-DOGS-FOR-MEXICANS-DAY at DollarDogs!!! THat's right - if you're not a citizen of the USA, you will not be eating DollarDogs on Monday!!!
(Yo, Pedi-Gramps, you might want to see this on Monday...could be interesting...)

Amazing the amount of press "No Immigrant Monday" is getting. Wonder how much press would be generated if we gringas and gringos launched a national campaign to boycot Mexican restaurants and Cinco de Mayo celebrations this Friday. I'd venture to say it's their most lucrative day of the year, so let's hit 'em where it hurts!

Hey, Geisha Boy, instead of tacos and margaritas, let's do sushi/sake at Osaka. We'll just put that nasty little Pearl Harbor incident behind us for the evening.....

I got to get a life. In the mean time sushi sounds great.

.....In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith, becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American... There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people."

Theodore Roosevelt 1907
