In the ditch...
I like to row on a low tide in Colberg Creek on cold and windy days at which time it's basically a ditch. All that cold wind just goes six feet over your head. It was blowing 15-20 mph when I took this picture which is more than I want to deal with on a high tide.

This is one of about 20 Pelicans that sun on the point between Wappoo Cut and the Ashley River across from City Marina. I was drifting with the tide, eating lunch after rowing about 6 miles and spotted the gang a few feet from the boat. While I was reaching for my camera they took flight but I caught this one on lift off.
